 W. R. MEADOWS has always been concerned about the environment. Nearly two decades ago, the Green Line® of environmentally responsible products/systems for concrete performance was introduced. We remain committed to producing environmentally friendly products and systems that meet or exceed the latest EPA standards and guidelines. W. R. MEADOWS is a member of both the U.S. Green Building Council and the Canada Green Building Council. By using qualified "green building" products from W. R. MEADOWS, architects gain the prestige and peace of mind that goes along with utilizing quality materials, while at the same time considering the environment, worker safety and ease of application.
Use of W.R. MEADOWS green products can contribute to LEED certification of a building. All members of a project team can incorporate these products in the construction of a building to meet the performance criteria that are referenced in the LEED Rating System. LEED is a rating system developed and maintained by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) that deals with the environmental performance of buildings based on the overall characteristics of the project. LEED provides third-party validation of a building´s performance and encourages "green building." A project team can earn LEED certification by achieving credits based on six categories of performance: Sustainable Sites (SS), Energy and Atmosphere (EA), Water Efficiency (WE), Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ), Materials and Resources (MR), and Innovation and Design (ID). |
